How to Screen Record on macOS 10.15.7

If you’re using macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina), you already have a built-in tool for screen recording no need to install third-party software. Whether you’re capturing a tutorial, recording gameplay, or saving a video call, here’s how to do it easily.

Method 1: Use the Screenshot Toolbar

macOS Catalina introduced a simple shortcut to open the screen recording tool:

Steps:

1. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 5
   This opens the Screenshot Toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Choose Recording Option:
   • Click the “Record Entire Screen” icon to capture everything.
   • Click the “Record Selected Portion” icon to record a specific area.
3. Click “Record” on the toolbar to begin.
4. To stop recording, click the Stop button in the top menu bar (near the clock), or press Command (⌘) + Control + Esc.
