139 I recently had a hail storm, and my home insurance provider, Allstate, denied my roof claim. They said there wasn’t enough damage to cover the cost of replacing it…but they also didn’t measure my roof, let alone take photos of it! I don’t think they were being honest or fair with me and now I’m fighting back. Here’s why Allstate Denied My Roof Claim and how I plan on getting them to pay up! Introduction I was recently denied for a roof claim by Allstate. I want to tell you about my experience and how it has changed the way I look at all insurance companies. When I first got denied, all of my friends told me you should just go with GEICO because they’re cheaper. So that’s what I did; and GEICO gave me a lower quote. But then when the time came to actually file the claim, they kept telling me that they couldn’t process it because they weren’t an A rated company, which is something that Allstate Denied My Roof Claim never told me during our conversations. In the end, I had to switch back to Allstate. Why would I risk having no coverage if there are other options? Allstate might not be perfect, but they’ve been around for a long time and have worked well for many people. They are still my best bet! The Issues with Insurance I’m not sure if this is a nationwide problem or if it’s just happening in my area, but I’ve noticed a lot of people are having problems with Allstate denying their roof claims. The thing is, the policy says that you’re covered for wind-related damage to your roof. But Allstate seems to be saying that it’s not because of a sudden and accidental event. Now, I don’t know what the difference between sudden and accidental is. But they’re telling me that this isn’t an accident and so they aren’t going to cover it. Like, I can see why they might say it wasn’t an accident if there was a storm or something. But we didn’t have any storms in weeks! And there’s no way we could have done anything like that ourselves. Allstate said I need to file another claim. But all I want them to do is fix the issue on my house! How to Get the Help You Need If you’ve been denied from Allstate for a roof claim, it’s time to get the help that you need. Allstate is denying claims left and right. The problem is that the general public often doesn’t know what they’re entitled to when it comes to insurance coverage. They may not even be aware of their rights as an Allstate customer. Thankfully, there are steps that you can take to get your claim approved if you’ve been denied by Allstate. You have every right to appeal this decision so long as you file an appeal within 60 days of receiving notification. Here are some tips to get Allstate Denied My Roof Claim to reconsider their denial: -Collect all documentation related to the incident including police reports, repair estimates, and estimates from a licensed contractor. -File your appeal in writing with Allstate including all of the information mentioned above. Be sure to include details about how this policy has impacted you as well as how much money would be lost without it. -Be persistent! There’s no one who knows better about these problems than yourself so don’t give up! After the Storm When you’ve gone through a storm like Hurricane Harvey, the last thing you want is to be denied when it’s time to file a claim. Unfortunately, that’s what happened to me. But now I have a game plan on how to get my money and make sure this doesn’t happen again. I’ll give you the quick rundown of what happened. Back in September 2017, we were hit with Hurricane Harvey and it flooded my home (along with many others). I called Allstate Denied My Roof Claim right away and filed an insurance claim because water damage is covered under their homeowner policy. The adjuster came out and took photos of the water damage in the house and then gave me an estimate for the repairs needed: $25,000 worth of work. Conclusion I hope my story has helped you to realize that no matter how big your insurance company is, they’re not going to be perfect. There will always be an exception to the rule. Be sure that when you’re filing a claim, you get everything in writing and have a clear understanding of what is and isn’t covered by your policy. If this has happened to you and it’s been denied, contact the company in question right away and ask them why. You may be pleasantly surprised by the answer. Allstate had the audacity to tell me I was at fault for allowing our roof to leak! Can you believe that? We’ve done nothing but repair leaks for months on end now. That should count for something. After my initial shock wore off, I realized this was all just a ploy so they wouldn’t have to pay up on their end of the deal and we can all go ahead and suffer together. Not happening on my watch though- I called Allstate Denied My Roof Claim again just like before, only this time I said I want my money. Guess what happened next? They gave me the full amount of coverage without any argument! Isn’t that unbelievable? Resources I’ve been in a tough spot since allstate denied my roof claim. The company refused to pay for the damages done by a storm that damaged my home and has now been pouring water into it for weeks. All this time, I’ve been putting up with the leaks and mildew, worried about what could happen if I didn’t get help. But now that all state denied my roof claim, what am I supposed to do? Luckily, there are some things you can do when your insurance company denies your roof claim! I started asking around for recommendations on how to handle the situation. A friend of mine told me that their homeowners’ insurance covered all of their costs after they got hit with a storm. That’s why I was so shocked when Allstate Denied My Roof Claim-I thought I was protected! Here’s what happened: After talking to friends and family, we found out that there were two different types of policies available: HO-3 or HO-4. HO-3 only covers damage caused by windstorms (or other conditions like fire or smoke) while HO-4 also covers damage from any external forces.
