What Trends Will Prevail in Eastern and Western Clothing?

America is a land where people from various religious and cultural backgrounds reside. This means that where there are women wearing a kurta with a dupatta, you will find girls sporting mini skirts as well. That’s the beauty of the rich and vibrant culture in the country.

Whether you wear eastern clothes or have a love for western attire, this blog is for you. But before I discuss the prevailing trends, let’s throw some light on the different cultures.

Eastern Vs. Western Debate

The world is becoming a global village. This holds true for the times that we are living in. While the world is ‘shrinking’, one can see that both West and East draw inspiration from each other’s culture when it comes to clothing. While the East may have borrowed the pants from the West, the designers in the east recently featured long A-line shirts in their collections.

Hence, allowing for a fusion of both cultures. In the recent past, some fashion designers from the West introduced their versions of footwear and clothes that were inspired by Eastern culture. Therefore, this blog post may include the fashion trends that will be all the rage in each of these cultures, but you will see some trends that will be common to both. 

Eastern Attire

Bold Colors

If you haven’t already, invest in attires with bold colors. You will need them this season. Whether it is a wedding that you have to go to or a get-together that you are planning with friends, bold-colored attires will be all the rage. Some of the many colors that your wardrobe should include are deep red, orange, mustard, plum, and bottle green.

You might even see these colors in summer clothing as well. So get ready to make a bold statement this lawn season too.

Flowy Gowns

This attire has also been a favorite during the wedding seasons. However, women now wear flowy gowns to bridal showers and birthday parties as well. There are various styles that these gowns come in. Hence, giving you many options to choose from. From block-colored gowns to printed ones, you can choose whatever style is to your liking. However, the ‘in’ style these days is the former.

Cigarette Pants

The pants ain’t running out of fashion any time soon. Although bootcut trousers are also making their way through, cigarette pants are still a hot favorite. However, you will see more of these in summer or weddings in winter.

Statement Dupatta

The dupattas are back in fashion. Prominent designers including Mohsin Naveed Ranjha introduced statement dupattas to their collections. These dupattas go well with plain block-colored attires.

Western Attire

Beyond Average Polka Dots

The polka dots are back in fashion. But not their mini versions. The polka dot look sported on the most prominent runways recently was the huge ones. So, invest in attires that feature elevated polka dots. Whether it is a dress or a top, you can purchase the polka dot version of them. You will look trendy. And NO, polka dots are not for grannies.

Marigold Mania

If we talk about color trends, you will see a lot of marigolds. From jackets to most probably your bras, it will be marigold everything. The color won’t be season-specific either. If you do not have a marigold attire or clothing piece already, invest in one. You can opt for a monochrome marigold dress or pair it with some other color. The choice is yours.

Suits

Who said suits are for men alone? Women can carry suits just as well or better. If you are a sucker for wearing suits, then this coming season is for you. Suits are back. Avoid investing in the plain boring ones though. Play with the different patterns and textures that are available. You can even consider wearing a fancy and flashy suit for your next ballroom event. Yes, suits are going to be everywhere.

Everything Stripes

Stripes will also be in this year. And all sorts of them. You will not have to resort to plain, vertical, and single-colored stripes. They will come in different colors and styles. Like the dotted stripes in different colors on a skirt with a plain white base. See, that is a fun way of featuring stripes on a clothing item. In case, you are not sure, invest in two striped outfits. Prefer going for the vertical striped ones. As they tend to flatter your figure.

Bright Green

Bright or neon green (whatever you call it), will be in this season too. I call it the highlighter green. From jackets to shorts, you will have options to choose from in this color. You can even choose to wear neon green-colored accessories to add a pop of color to your otherwise subtle outfit. Not only this but bright green-colored bags and shoes can also be an option if you wish to sport the color this season.

Hot Pants

Yes, the hot pants are making a comeback this year. For those of you who are not aware of what this fashion trend is, hot pants are short shorts. The style was first introduced in the 1950s. So you might want to ditch your basic pants for this smoky hot trend.

Some of the fashion trends that will be common in both eastern and western attires are pastel colors and fringes. Though the style of the attires will be different, women should get ready to sport both these looks. It is more of an East meets West scenario. And to be honest I am a fan. I love fusion wear and now more people are supporting it.
