Those who complain are really talking about two professions that have been around for decades and theoretically centuries, but are defined in the tech industry as UI/UX design.

The main difference between UI/UX design

UX design and UI design play similar but different roles in product development. UI design refers to the look and feel of the product – the visual and interactive elements that contribute to a strong user experience. UX design, on the other hand, is concerned with the overall impression of the product or service and the elements that create a meaningful and relevant user experience.

Design and prototyping

UX and UI designers may work on the same product, but with different tasks and goals. UX designers typically create schematics and test prototypes that form the basis of the user flow of a website or service, while UI designers refine the product and design to drive user engagement.

High standards and attention to detail

Another difference between UI and UX designers is the level of detail in their work. UI designers are responsible for every page, button, and interaction, ensuring that they work seamlessly. UX designers look at the product or service at a much higher level and make sure that the entire user experience of the website, service, or app is fully realized and consistent.

UI/UX design collaboration

Although they have different functions, UX and UI make up the overall process of designing the usability of a website or application. These disciplines complement each other and contribute to a positive and intuitive user journey. Elements of the user experience of a website or application are created by designing the user experience. The efforts of each discipline are mirrored by the efforts of its partners. This contributes to the holistic nature of the product or service and leaves a lasting impression on the user.
