Truly, it takes about an hour and a half to do each head of hair. The extension is bonded to inch-long super sticky strips that are peeled off like stickers. Your stylist places small sections of natural hair between two of these strips. As for removal, that’s even faster—the stylist drenches the tape bonds in a solute that loosens the adhesive and wiggles them off gently. Then all you need is a couple of shampoos to remove all of it. As your hair grows out further from the roots, the bond inches farther away from your root and farther away from your root means more likely it will twist or tangle on itself—and possibly reveal your secret was well kept after all.

Tape in Hair Extensions Are Easy to Care

I have a few tips for you about my extension experience. First, I wash, blow-dry, flatiron, curl, scrunch, and braid my extensions just as I would my own natural hair. The adhesive bonds are most fragile when wet so I like to blast my roots and bonds with a blow-dryer before gently combing through to detangle. This helps prevent any tangling on the wet bonds and it also results in the world’s easiest waves!
