Bishop Gorman has yet to play a league game this year, and this will be the Gaels first chance to make a statement in Class 5A Desert League play.

Arbor View got thrashed 52-0 last time these two teams met, and there’s nothing the Aggies would like more than to spoil Bishop Gorman’s chances of competing for a national title this season.

With both of these teams located in Las Vegas and one chasing a national championship, there’s more than just bragging rights on the line in this game.

No. 5 Bishop Gorman (4-1) has only lost once this year, and that was a 24-21 loss to No. 2 Mater Dei in the second week of the season. The Gaels led that game 21-7 before the nation’s second ranked team pulled off the comeback victory.

Other than that hiccup, Bishop Gorman has been rolling and has looked every bit like a national title contender.

The Gaels have been lights out on defense, allowing just 31 points in their other four games, and the offense has been absolutely explosive, racking up 213 points in those same four matchups.

They dominated Brookwood 70-10 last week, and that was with a majority of starters sitting out most of if not all of the second half.

Arbor View (4-0) feels Brookwood’s pain having lost 52-0 last time the Aggies faced off with Bishop Gorman, and they’ll look to avoid that same fate when the two meet again this week.

The good news is that Arbor View’s defense is better than it was then, with the Aggies having only allowed 22 points through their first four games.

They rolled to a 34-0 win over Green Valley last week, and will look to use their strong momentum from the first half of the season to take down a juggernaut this week.

Follow along live as Bishop Gorman continues its run towards a national title against one of Nevada’s best teams.
