The new tool is free to use and helps Charter recruit candidates for available positions. Its $18 minimum wage in rural areas gives the company an edge, but the company is confident that a $20 minimum wage will spur hiring in cities. Job applicants can easily find the best fit for their skills and qualifications by filling out the Spectrum Fit Finder form.

Spectrum’s commitment to diversity

Diversity is an important aspect of Spectrum Careers’ mission. We strive to be an inclusive community where everyone is treated with respect, dignity and equity. We strive to eliminate fear, hate and discrimination. We are proud to celebrate and promote the contributions of diverse individuals. Below are some of the ways that our employees make a difference through diversity.

Spectrum’s AmeriCorps program

Spectrum Health’s AmeriCorps program is one example of a nonprofit that gives back and has the ability to create a positive impact in the community. The program focuses on providing service and capacity building activities that are inclusive and promote wellness for service recipients. The program’s focus areas are children’s health, chronic disease prevention, and wellness for decision-makers and leaders in health care.

In addition to its regular service hours, Spectrum’s AmeriCorps members are required to participate in a variety of special projects. They may also be required to participate in volunteer work or engage in disaster response activities. Some of these volunteer opportunities may occur outside of the members’ standard service hours, while others may take place in place of them.

AmeriCorps members serve 40 hours per week, with some activities requiring work beyond the normal workday. Most members will be required to work full-time for the full 11-month period, but there are some special events and opportunities for weekend service. Members will be assigned to work at a partner or local service site, while program trainings are held at different locations around the state. Depending on the project, participants may be required to drive to these locations, as some locations are remote or not accessible by public transportation.
