Nissan Altima gets updated everywhere but under the hood

In June, Nissan made the Altima 2023 official. It’s time to assess now that the family car is available at dealerships. The model for the next year will only see minor price hikes.

The new Nissan emblem can be seen everywhere, and every trim level has LED headlights in addition to distinctive V-motion grills for the bigger trim levels. The S lowers down when both axes are powered, leaving the SV, SR, and SL, while the Platinum trim, which was exclusively AWD, starts.

The distinctive black chrome insert and SR insignia are now added to the SR. Four new wheel styles and a few more colours have been added to the options.

Nissan has increased the destination fare from $ 1,025 to $ 1,095. The prices for the Altima 2023 after the destination, and their changes compared to 2022, are:

  • S: $ 26,385 ($ 710)
  • SV: $ 27,185 ($ 510)
  • RS: $ 28,585 ($ 910)
  • SL: $ 33,085 ($ 1,970)
  • SR VC-Turbo: $ 36,085 ($ 4,060)
  • SV AWD: $ 28,685 ($ 610)
  • SR AWD: $ 30,085 ($ 2,035)
  • SL AWD: $ 34,585 ($ 2,070)

Inside, select finishes get an updated instrument cluster with a seven-inch information screen and a much larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter replaces the eight-inch option on the previous model. SR switches to dual-contrast stitching, while wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless phone charging are standard on grades SL and SR VC-Turbo, optional on grades SV and SR.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across the range, which means automatic front and rear emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning and automatic high beam. Read more about Nisan at https://jaguarmalaysia.com/

Features

The engines continue. That means the standard 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder produces 188 horsepower and 180 foot-pounds of torque on the front drivers, 182 horsepower when optional with AWD. Then there is the variable-compression 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 248 horsepower and 273 foot-pounds of torque at 93 octane, 236 horsepower at regular gas, which can only be achieved with front-wheel drive. They both go through CVT.
