Responsibility of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board The MPCB is responsible for monitoring and controlling air pollution. Amongst its other functions, it monitors ambient air quality, issues licenses to industries and other establishments which pollute local air, supervises construction sites and incinerators for industrial waste management, conducts research on environmental issues etc. The MPCB has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that all pollution control measures are implemented properly. It also has various roles such as issuing licences to polluting industries, setting up air quality monitoring stations in their vicinity and providing information about their performance on a regular basis. The NOC issued by the relevant government agency is valid for one year. NOC provides details of the business owner and their company, including its name, address, registration number and other relevant details.
