iOS 16 public beta is Public Now—here’s how to Download

What’s a beta?

ios 16 beta profile are pre-release testing versions. Every iOS update goes through the beta phase before it’s officially launched, from small tweaks such as 15.5.1 to the full-version game-changers like iOS 16.

There are developer betas (for registered software developers only), and public betas (for anyone who’s keen). Both types go through multiple versions—probably half a dozen—before a major launch.

How to install the iOS 16 Developer Beta

If you’re a registered iOS developer, here’s how to install the iOS 16 developer beta:

1. On your iPhone, head to ios 16 beta profile in Safari and log in with your Apple ID details.
2. Head to the Downloads section, listed in the menu on the left.
3. Scroll down to the iOS 16 beta and tap the Install Profile button. 
4. You’ll see a pop-up appear asking whether you want to download a profile to your iPhone. Click Accept.
5. Head to the Settings app and tap Profile Downloaded at the top of the list. If this doesn’t appear, head to General > Profile and tap on the iOS 16 beta profile. 
6. Tap Install in the top-right to install the iOS 16 beta profile.
7. Agree to the developer consent form.
8. Restart your iPhone to finish installing the beta profile.
9. Once restarted, go back to the Settings app and head to General > Software Update.
10. You should see the iOS 16 beta appear – tap Download and Install, and wait for your iPhone to download the update.
