Introduction

The developers of NBminer are Chinese, and they made it with the Chinese market in mind. Both the description and the support are only in Chinese at this time. The software works with both Nvidia and AMD GPUs and consistently achieves top hash rates across a variety of mining techniques. This miner is not particularly stable in all situations.

Most coins have a 2% miner fee.

Configuring a Sample of NBminer (bat file)

On Linux, the mining software is run from the command line, while on Windows it is run through a.bat file. You’ll find some example bat files for each coin that may be mined with NBminer below. Your wallet address (YOUR ADDRESS) and rig ID (RIG ID) should be substituted accordingly. Name it what you choose, but keep in mind that only Latin letters and the symbols “-” and “_” are allowed. The coin you’re mining should match the cryptocurrency wallet.

Advanced Options for NBminer

There are occasions when more work is required to begin mining. Disconnecting a GPU or establishing a maximum temperature for its operation are two examples. We compiled a list of the most frequently used options for NBminer. To use a parameter, simply append its value to the launch line shown in the preceding example. Overclocking the graphics processing unit (GPU) is typically beyond of the miner’s control.

•  stratum+ssl:/

To mine using SSL, a URL format of stratum+ssl:/ is used. The stratum+tcp:/ prefix must be changed to the stratum+ssl:/ prefix before the pool address may be encrypted with SSL. Remember that the SSL pool address is likely to be different from the non-SSL pool address. Stratum+SSL:/eth.2miners.com:12020 is one such example (2Miners Ethereum pool for mining through SSL).

• –devices restricts

When used with the appropriate GPUs, —devices restricts the launch of mining software to those machines. Following the —devices option, list the GPUs you want to use. 0 is the first available GPU. In a setup with six graphics processing units (GPUs), for instance, the GPUs are numbered 0 through 5. All save the fifth GPU will have mining software activated when you use the —devices 0-4, 1-2, and 3-5 switch (indexed as 4).

•  —platform
• Mining platforms can be specified with the —platform option. Both AMD and Nvidia are used automatically. —the No. 1 platform is reserved for Nvidia mining operations only. Mining is restricted to the AMD hardware on platform 2.

• —temperature-limit

The —temperature-limit option restricts the maximum safe temperature for GPU mining. If a GPU gets too hot, it will disconnect and wait 10 seconds before restarting mining. To illustrate, consider the option —temperature-limit 75.

•  —log

If you use the option —log, the mining software’s log file will be generated and saved to the same folder on your hard drive (logs subfolder).

•  —fee

With the —fee 0 option, the mining program will be started without paying the developer’s charge, but the rig’s hash rate will be lowered.
