A bedroom is a place where we rest and relax after a long day or even during those lazy weekends. You may not be aware of it but people actually spend one-third of their life sleeping. Sleep is a vital part of our day. It helps us replenish all those energies that we spend during the day so we wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the next day ahead.

While a regular bedroom can already be considered as comfortable, there are actually more things you could do to make it extra comfy. With a more comfortable bedroom, you can enjoy better sleep and feel more relaxed during your stay.

Here are some of the things you could do to make your bedroom extra cozy.

Add a Comfy Rug

Stepping on a plain floor when you wake up in the morning can feel cold to the feet. However, you can make every step warm and comfy by adding a fluffy area rug into your bedroom. Be sure to get a really large one, enough to cover the majority of your bedroom floor for totally comfortable steps especially early in the morning. There are washable rugs that can be machine washed, making cleaning a lot lighter and more convenient.

Opt for Soft, Warm Lighting

Lighting plays a huge role in the overall atmosphere of a room. If you want to achieve a cozier feel in your bedroom, always opt for soft, warm lighting rather than regular light bulbs. When choosing lamps, choose ones with deep or dark colors for the shades and a soft glow for the light bulb itself. You could also add a dimmer and some light sconces for a softer glow. Adding a few candles or even fairy lights around can also add to the comfy vibe.

Invest in a Big, Soft Mattress

The bed is the main element in the bedroom and it is the most used furniture piece in the area as well. Your cozy bedroom won’t be complete without a big, soft mattress to lay down on. Aside from adding to the cozy feel of your bedroom, you also get to enjoy heavenly and more relaxed sleep every time.

Use Lots of Fabrics

Using lots of textures and fabrics actually adds an extra touch of coziness to your bedroom. Add more fabrics or linen to your usual bedroom style – an extra blanket draped over a chaise longue, some line draped at a corner of the bed, and so on. Be sure that the colors and hues complement each other so they don’t clash with each other.

Add Thick Curtains

While light and airy curtains look more relaxed, thick ones can make your room comfier and more conducive to rest and sleep. Thick curtains block more outdoor light and even lessen the noise, giving you a more peaceful space where you could rest and relax.

Making your bedroom extra cozy only needs a few extra steps and effort to achieve. No matter how big or small your bedroom space is, you could always make it extra comfortable for you and your family.
