Some can use framed borders, but frameless borders are more popular and are created using a gallery wrapping technique. The canvas is stretched around the stretcher bars before being attached to the frame. Want to know more about giclee canvas prints? Our Giclee Canvas Print guide is available.

What’s canvas made from?

Canvas is a durable and robust fabric that was once made from hemp. Canvas is now made more often with cotton, linen and polyester. Stretcher bars and wooden frame Canvas Vows use stretcher bars to create canvas prints. These bars are increasingly used in combination with inkjet-printed canvas prints. The corner structure of a stretcher bar is simply a wood frame. It can be made in many ways, but the corners interlock and fit together as puzzle pieces.

Canvas prints vs. Framed prints

Mixing framed and canvas print is a common feature of modern home décor. You can create an original home decor style by combining these two types of art. The frame, along with its color or the style of framed prints, can tie together the whole room’s color scheme. A simple black border frame will keep the attention on the artwork or Photo within the room. A stylized frame will bring out the personality of the photograph. Framed prints can change the mood and tone of a room by altering the atmosphere. When framing prints, it is essential to consider the style and color choice of your frames. This will help maintain cohesion in your room.

Canvas prints, on the other hand, are more flexible when it comes to decorating a space. A canvas print puts the focus on the image on the canvas and not on the frame or border. (Unless you are looking to combine framed and canvas prints). Canvas prints can be added to walls without much more thought than a framed print. The frameless edges are flexible and can be used in any style. The canvas print style is vibrant and draws attention to the room. It also creates focal points that add life and color.
