Umrah doesn’t just require proper completion but also demands healthy preparation. Do you know preparing is essential for Umrah, just like other trips? Adequate preparation is the completion of a successful and remarkable Umrah journey.

Umrah is a popular act of Islam that every single Muslim wants to perform by booking their Umrah Packages. It will give you fresh feelings, like a new life, and clear your past sins.

If you are going to perform Umrah, this article will benefit you. This text will discuss some tips and guidelines to make your expedition memorable.

Make your intention to perform Umrah:

Intention is mandatory for every physical or mental act in Islam. The purpose is to do a show with pure action and heart and just for the sake of Allah (SWT). When you go on pilgrimage, your preference is for the sake of Allah (SWT). But making it verbally will give you mental satisfaction. You can say, “I intend to perform Umrah for the sake of Allah (SWT).”

Take some knowledge about how to perform Umrah:

Taking knowledge of Umrah can be very beneficial for you. It would help if you learned about pilgrimage in a manner for a better experience.

There are four rituals of Umrah:

  • Ihram
  • Tawaf
  • Sa’i
  • Halq/Taqsir (cutting or shaving the hair)

You can learn about these rituals from many resources and online platforms. Watch videos, read blogs and articles, listen to scholars, etc.

Prepare yourself physically:

Umrah requires physical fitness a lot. Can a physically fitted Muslim perform Umrah within 4 to 5 hours? However, there is relaxation for older people as they can do rituals using a wheelchair. Start exercising daily before your departure and eat a healthy diet.

Entering into Ihram attire:

Ihram is the first and foremost ritual to perform Umrah. It’s the prerequisite of the remaining three traditions, as you must perform all the other acts in the state of Ihram. It’s a white colour garment for men which consists of two parts. And for women, it’s related to a traditional Islamic dress like an Abaya.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced a new Umrah dress code for coming women in the Umrah season to prevent them from harassment incidents. If you are unfamiliar with this dress code update, follow it: labbaikhajjumrah.co.uk/new-umrah-dress-code-for-women

Performing Tawaf and Sa’i:

Tawaf is the second and most prominent ritual to perform Umrah. You have to complete Tawaf seven times around the Holy Kaaba in an anticlockwise direction. Try to follow the modest rules settled in advance to perform Tawaf in a manner.

Sa’i is the third ritual, and you must perform it again seven times. It’s the walking/running ritual between the hills of Safa and Marwah.

Cutting/shaving hair:

The last part of your pilgrimage includes cutting/shaving the hair. This is separate for men and women. Men must shave their hair (also cut in certain conditions), and women must cut it according to the fingertip. This ending ritual will mark your pilgrimage for completion.

Congratulations! You have done your Umrah.

Now, you can exit the state of Ihram as your Umrah has been done. May Allah accept your Umrah and grant you the happiest life!
