The only time that the World Cup has been held in North America was in 1994, when it was held in the United States. The biggest presence of audience for a match was 199,854 which was for the 1950 World Cup Final between Brazil and Uruguay. The youngest player to ever appear in a World Cup match was Norman Whiteside of Northern Ireland, who was 17 years and 41 days old when he played in the 1982 tournament. The oldest player to ever pop up in a World Cup match was Egypt’s Essam El-Hadary, who was 45 years and 161 days old when he played in the 2018 tournament.
