When is the Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022?
This year’s World Cup is a fairly condensed tournament, taking place between September 22 – October 1, 2022.
The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 will feature the world’s top 12 women’s national teams, with 38 games to be played across 10 days from 22 September to 1 October 2022. The event will be taking place in Sydney – returning to Australian shores for the first time since 1994 – at Sydney SuperDome and Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre in the iconic sporting and entertainment precinct of Sydney Olympic Park.
Another game, another double-digit win for Team USA at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup, as they pulled away in the fourth quarter on Saturday for a 77-63 win over China. This was the toughest game yet for the Americans, but their depth and the arrival of A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray proved to be the difference.
Fresh off the plane, the WNBA regular season and Finals MVPs combined for 32 points, 14 rebound and five assists in their first game of the tournament (they arrived late after leading the Las Vegas Aces to the franchise’s first WNBA title last Sunday). With this win, Team USA remained at the top of Group A and clinched a spot in the knockout stage. Next up is South Korea in the early morning hours of Monday or late night hours of Sunday, depending on your time zone.
