Express Entry: The Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream

If you are looking to move to Ontario, Canada, the Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream may be the perfect option for you! This stream is part of the Express Entry system and is designed to help talented workers immigrate to the province. In this blog post, we will discuss who is eligible for the stream, how to apply, and what benefits it offers. We will also answer some Frequently Asked Questions about Express Entry: The Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream.

What is the Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream (OEEHCP)?

The Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream (OEEHCP) is a provincial immigration stream that gives economic-class applicants the opportunity to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The program allows qualified candidates with strong human capital—including work experience, education, and language proficiency—to move to Ontario and contribute to the province’s economy.

How do I qualify for the OEEHCP?

In order to qualify for the Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream (OEEHCP), applicants must meet certain criteria. These criteria include:

– having a valid profile in the federal Express Entry pool;

– scoring at least 400 CRS points;

– have an acceptable language score of CLB 7 or higher in English or French;

– having an Educational Credential Assessment report that confirms Canadian equivalence of your foreign education; and

– meeting the minimum work experience requirements, which may vary depending on your profession.

In addition to these requirements, applicants must also demonstrate that they have the required funds necessary to settle in Ontario.

What are the benefits of the OEEHCP?

The Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream (OEEHCP) allows the province to search for and nominate qualified applicants through the federal Express Entry system. The OEEHCP is intended to speed up the immigration process for eligible applicants, allowing them to be processed faster and become permanent residents more quickly than through other methods. Those approved through the OEEHCP have access to a number of benefits, including:

– Priority processing for immigration applications

– A smoother transition into the Ontario job market

– Access to settlement services and resources to help them settle in their new home

– The ability to obtain professional certificates or licenses that are required in certain occupations

– A dedicated point of contact with the provincial government to answer any questions they may have.

How can I apply for the OEEHCP?

The Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (OEEHP) Stream is designed to make it easier for skilled immigrants to become permanent residents of Canada. If you are an eligible candidate, the process of applying for this program in 2023 may be slightly different from past years.

In order to apply for the OEEHCP Stream, you must first create an Express Entry profile and provide information about your work experience, language abilities, educational credentials and other details. Additionally, you must have a valid job offer from an Ontario employer or be eligible for the federal Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Once your Express Entry profile is verified by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you will be placed in the Express Entry pool and assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Those with higher CRS scores are more likely to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

If your CRS score is sufficient and you meet Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream criteria, then you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Ontario immigration. You must then submit a complete application, including any required documents such as police certificates, medical examinations, language test results and proof of funds.

If your application is approved, you will be eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada through the OEEHCP Stream.

By applying through the OEEHCP Stream, you may be able to bypass the lengthy wait times associated with other immigration programs and potentially receive a permanent residence in Canada sooner than anticipated.  With any luck, 2023 could be your chance to start a new life as a Canadian Permanent Resident!
