Everyone can do it, and you can completely modify it by mixing whatever patterns and text you like. I previously described how to produce customized keychains with your Cricut machine and permanent vinyl. Here is an illustration of an option using the same acrylic keychain accessories, some paints, and your hand handwriting. Let’s examine it! Making acrylic keychains with your customized designs.

Paint a color stripe over one edge of the acrylic blank in step 1.

Carefully remove the clear protective coating from the blank’s two sides first. Then, using a paintbrush and your favorite acrylic or inter paint, create a paint line in the color of your choice. In order to make your keychain shine, consider covering it in a generous amount of Glitterific paint. Permit the paint to thoroughly dry before moving on to the next step.

Include the text or design in step two.

On the opposite side of the keychain, write your message or comment using a fine-point paint marker or a permanent marker. You are free to add any embellishments you like, like golden dots, to your creation.

You can keep things very simple by writing a title or phrase or using just a monogram. If you are new to hand lettering, take a look at my post on how to start faux calligraphy. You’d be surprised to learn how easy it is!

Write your text as normal, so go back and deepen any downward lines. For example, in the word “dad,” your pen primarily glides downward on the left side of the “d” and indeed the left side of a stem. The stem and side of the “left” are similarly written with downward strokes. By putting a second string to each of those spots and coloring the space in between, you can construct the letter “dad” in a wonderful brush script font.

Add the thread, ring, and tassel in step three.

Put an open leaping ring through blank’s hole to join the chain and keyring. Use pliers to attach the jump ring. Tassels can be added by slipping them onto the keychain directly or by connecting them to the top or bottom hop rings.

There are numerous ways to personalize these keychains. I love being able to refer to my children’s grandparents by their unique names, such as “Poppy,” “Grammy,” “Pop-Pop,” and “G-Mom,” rather than the more traditional ones.

To further protect your finished keychain, spray an acrylic sealer over the letters or paint a coat of epoxy over it. The painting will be shielded from ordinary wear and tear by doing this.
