Setting the Stage

Christmas is a time for family, friends, and celebration. For many ranchers, this means celebrating the holiday on their ranch. Here are some tips on setting the stage for a Christmastime celebration at your ranch.

Plan Ahead
Make a list of the things you’ll need to get done in order to put together your Christmas celebration: decorating the tree, boxing up presents, cooking dinner, etc. Once you have a rough idea of what needs to be done, set a calendar reminder for when those tasks should be completed. This will help keep everything moving along smoothly.

Organize Your Space
Once you’ve gotten all of your preparations underway, it’s time to start organizing your space. Decorate the Christmas tree accordingly, hang ornaments from the ceiling or walls, and set out any presents you’ve bought. If there’s room in your home and on your property, consider setting up a temporary pavilion or Santa’s grotto for guests to enjoy while they wait for dinner to cook or visit with Santa Claus.

Invite Family and Friends
The best way to celebrate Christmas is with loved ones by your side. Make sure to invite everyone who is important to you- both immediate family members and extended family members- as well as any friends you may have made over the past year. We suggest planning familial gatherings on either Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Eve so that everyone has enough time to get home from work and spend time with
If you’ve ever been around a grouchy puppy dog, you know just how frustrating it can be. Whether the dog is sick or just feeling grumpy, understanding why he’s acting this way can help you deal with him effectively.

The Christmas Dinner

Christmas is a time to rejoice with family and friends. At the Ranch, we enjoy a festive dinner on Christmas Eve. Our traditional feast includes roast beef, ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, yams, gravy, cranberry sauce, and angel food cake. We also serve cookies and milk for dessert. Our dinner is a family tradition that we look forward to each year.

Gifts for the Ranch Family

When it comes to Christmas, nothing beats the peace and tranquility of a ranch. Of course, there’s always the worry of getting everything done in time, but with a little preparation and some thoughtful gifts, you can ensure that your loved ones have a holiday they’ll never forget. Here are five ideas for ranch-themed gifts:

1. A cowboy hat or other headwear – Cowboy hats are a traditional gift for men on Christmas, and they make perfect sense at a ranch where horses are a big part of life. If you’re not sure what size to get your man, ask him how many miles he rides each day!

2. A festive rug – Rugs add personality and color to any room, and they’re especially appropriate in a home with lots of hardwood floors. Get someone special at the ranch – or yourself – an animal-themed rug like those made from real cowboy boots or cattlehide.

3. Customized horseshoes – If you know someone who loves horses but doesn’t have their own horseshoes yet, why not get them personalized horseshoes? Not only will they be super excited about receiving new shoes for Christmas, but they’ll also have something unique and personal that represents their love of the ranch.

4. Local honey – Honey is one of those natural sweeteners that has a variety of unique flavors, so why not give someone special at the ranch some local honey? Not only is this a great gift
