Best Monsson Treks in India

by Uneeb Khan

Introduction

One of the best times to visit is during the monsoon season when you can see nature’s true colors. The lush green color and earthy smell act as a soul drug, whetting your appetite for more. Though trekking in many places would be difficult during the monsoon season, the scenic beauty of the area would make the effort worthwhile.

Rainstorms bring lush flora deep into the hillsides, giving hikers breathtaking views. The hills are rarely more beautiful than during the monsoon season.

Hampta Pass, Himachal Pradesh

Because of the enchanting beauty of the rugged mountains during the monsoon months, the Hampta Pass Trek is ideal for both novice and experienced trekkers. This trek will take you through both lush green and barren landscapes. Kullu would be lush with pine forests and apple trees, streams, and waterfalls, but once you crossed it, the land would turn arid, with barren footpaths and vertical rock walls in stark browns and greys. The lovely Chandratal Lake would also be visible. Though trekking would be difficult during the monsoon season, you would be able to see the best of nature’s colors in this stunning location.

Valley Of Flowers, Uttarakhand

Because of its immense beauty, this location is at the top of my list of monsoon treks, and it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monsoon rains cast a spell over this valley, decorating it with a colorful bedsheet of flowers and thus creating a mesmerizing view. The colorful scenery is enhanced by the lovely weather. There are always colorful butterflies, birds, and animals like Musk Deer to be found.

Triund Trek

Triund is a fantastic option for those looking for a stress-free introduction to Himalayan trekking.

Triund’s trail is short but steep. The steep ascent is offset by cool walks through rhododendron and oak forests. The trails’ forests are also home to a plethora of songbirds, making it a bird watcher’s paradise.

This trek attracts a large number of trekkers due to its ease of access from Dharamshala or McLeodGanj, making it difficult to enjoy the serenity of the location and becoming. This trek’s beauty is best appreciated during the week.

Kashmir Great Lakes, Jammu, and Kashmir

One or two alpine lakes are common sights on a high-altitude trek. Every day on the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, seven alpine lakes appear, surprising you with their enormity and unparalleled beauty! It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful trek in our country!

The best part is that each lake is unique and lovely in its own right. The landscape immediately following the monsoon, on the other hand, is breathtaking, with lush meadows and tiny flowers littered on the ground, so much so that you’ll wonder where to step without trampling the flowers. Its radiance can be overwhelming. Satsar’s breathtaking maple trees and plains are the highlights of this journey.

Pin Bhaba Pass, Himachal Pradesh

Without a doubt, the most spectacular pass crossing trek in our country is the Pin Bhaba Pass. That is an audacious claim. Especially with so many pass-crossing treks in our country.

But what you see from the pass attests to our bold claim.

When you reach the pass, you can see Pin valley, which is painted in various shades of pink and nestled among Spiti’s barren and desolate mountains, below you. That’s when you notice how dramatic the landscape changes.

Tarsar Marsar, Jammu & Kashmir

Tarsar Marsar is widely regarded as India’s most beautiful trek. This is not a title we bestow lightly on treks. Especially when the intimidating Kashmir Great Lakes trek is included.

Tarsar Marsar, on the other hand, is a trek through alpine lakes. Not only do you get to camp next to these emerald-blue, snow-fed lakes. Or the isolation of these campsites.

The most enjoyable aspect of this journey, however, is the variety. Every day is a new adventure with no idea what to expect. You’ll see freshwater musically cascading down ledges one day and massive lakes surrounded by snow-covered mountains the next. Sheep and horses grazing peacefully.
