Conditions for an NZeTA

An NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) is a required travel authorization for certain visitors to New Zealand. The conditions for obtaining an NZeTA include:

• Holding a passport from a visa-waiver country
• Intending to stay in New Zealand for no more than 6 months
• Not having a criminal conviction that would make the person ineligible for a visa
• Having a valid reason for travel, such as tourism, business, or transit
• Having a return or onward ticket, and enough money to support themselves during their stay
• Being able to meet any other entry requirements, such as being in good health and having no tuberculosis.

It’s important to note that some travelers, such as those with a valid New Zealand visa or citizenship, are not required to obtain an NZeTA.

Applying for NZeTA and the costs

Applying for an NZeTA can be done online through the official New Zealand government website. The process typically involves filling out an electronic form, providing passport details and answering questions about your travel plans and background. You may also need to upload a passport-style photograph. Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the New Zealand government and a decision will be made on whether to grant the NZeTA.

As of 2021, the cost for an NZeTA is NZD$12 for mobile applications and NZD$9 for web applications, with an additional NZD$35 service fee for each application. The NZeTA is valid for multiple entries for 2 years from the date of issue.

NZETA Delivery time 

The delivery time for an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) can vary depending on the volume of applications and the completeness of the information provided in the application. However, the New Zealand government website advises that the majority of the applications are processed within 24 hours and it may take longer for some applications.

Also, please make sure to double-check that you have entered the correct information and that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date you plan to leave New Zealand.
