If you ever delay then you may end up with costly maintenance bills for repairing and replacing your sewer camera equipment. There are a few common mistakes that you need to avoid while using your borescope so that the snake camera may not get damaged.

  1. Pushing the camera with force

When the camera is put firmly into the pipe, the majority of problems with it arise. The cable and lens may be harmed if the probe is forced through the pipe. The tube must be gently inserted within the pipe by the maintenance team.

  • Using short and fast motions

  • Not standing next to your drain opening

When using the camera, the operator must kneel next to the drain entrance. If the maintenance team inserts the camera into the opening while standing, it can break.

When inserting the camera into the drain hole, the technician must ensure their hand is close to the opening.

  • Continuously immersing the camera in liquid

When a plumbing repair staff submerges a camera in any liquid in the mistaken belief that the tube is waterproof, the camera frequently becomes damaged.

Although the tube is waterproof, the camera is not meant to be submerged in liquids all the time.

  • Subjecting the camera to very high heat

Never subject the camera to temperatures above 80⁰C, or 176⁰F. The camera can be harmed by being exposed to intense heat. The manual’s instructions on the high- and low-temperature threshold should be followed.

  • Bending the tube

The pipe camera’s tube or coil should not be wound. The fiber optics will be harmed by winding the tube, lowering the image’s quality. The articulation cables will also sustain damage.

  • Not checking the snake camera before using

Use only equipment that has been thoroughly inspected before use, whether you are using an ancient snake camera or a modern pipe inspection camera with cutting-edge capabilities.

  • Using the camera for cleaning or a bore tool

Non-essential usage of snake cameras is one of the major errors. Some employees may attempt to shove the sewage camera probe in an attempt to clear the obstacle or blockage from the camera’s path.

  • Not keeping the camera clean

Without adequate maintenance, a layer of grease, biological waste, processing waste, and grit would develop on inspection camera lenses that would be impossible to remove.

Its presence reduces the clarity of the video, damages the camera lens, and makes it difficult to manipulate the inspection camera probe.

  1. Being in haste while using the camera
