Lovely promenade and a great place to blow the cobwebs away.” Lovely Beach is not too busy “Hythe has a lovely beach that stretches for miles. Popular with beach fishermen but plenty of space for swimmers and windsurfers etc. Good cafes, pubs, and restaurants nearby plus the Imperial Hotel and a towpath for walks and cycling just back from the beach. Plenty of parking too.” Tranquillity “I visited Hythe Beach at the beginning of the summer holidays with four kids ranging between 4 and 12 years of age. We stayed from 10 am to 3 pm. Although it was a hot, school holiday day, the beach was very quiet. There is a small car park and plenty of seafront parking. All cost money but are not extortionate. The beach is pebbly with a small sand play area and plenty of rocks for rock pooling. Hythe Beach is not a place to go if you want amusement and rides. There is one small café, a couple of burger/ice cream vans and that is it. Perfect for a quiet, family day. As the weather is so warm, there are lots of jellyfish: the kids loved catching them in buckets and watching them. And yes, they set them free after an hour! The sea is crystal clear, and the whole area is clean. Perfect for a cheap family day by the seaside. Hythe has a lovely beach that stretches for miles.
