105 Cheese is one of those foods that people either adore or are vehemently against. While cheese can be hard to digest, there’s no denying that it adds great flavor and texture to dishes. If you love cooking with cheese, here are three recipes with cheese that will make you say yum! Table of Contents 1) Mac and Cheese2) Grilled Cheese Sandwich3) Cheese Fondue 1) Mac and Cheese This one is my favorite and can be made using any type of Recipes with cheese you like. The only thing I recommend is using a full-fat cheese for the best flavor. You’ll need: 2 cups macaroni, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon butter, 2 tablespoons flour, and 3 cups milk. Bring the water to a boil then add the pasta. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente then drain. Put back into pot and melt butter over medium heat before adding the flour and salt. When it becomes bubbling remove from stovetop and slowly add milk while whisking to create a smooth sauce. Once all milk has been added return pot to stove and stir frequently over low heat until mixture thickens enough so that it coats the back of a spoon. Add cheese (you may want to experiment with different types!) and cook for about 10 more minutes stirring occasionally. Serve hot with bread or crackers. Vegetarian Chili Mac: Use this recipe if you don’t eat meat but still want some protein in your dish. It tastes just as good as beef chili mac. You’ll need: One large onion, 4 cloves garlic, 2 carrots, 15 oz black beans, 28 oz diced tomatoes, 15 oz tomato sauce, 1 cup brown rice , 16 oz frozen corn kernels (thaw), ground cumin , dried oregano , paprika . To make it vegetarian use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth or beef broth. Saute onions in olive oil for about 5-7 minutes then add garlic and carrots. Stir continuously until soft which should take about another 5 minutes on low heat. 2) Grilled Cheese Sandwich This is one of the easiest and most popular recipes out there. Simply cook a piece of bread in butter on both sides, add cheese to one side, put another piece of bread on top and grill it until the cheese melts. This is perfect for anytime you have some leftover grilled cheese that needs to be eaten but doesn’t want to be eaten cold. The only problem with this recipe is that it’s not exactly healthy so you might want to consider using whole wheat bread and low-fat cheese or even swapping out the butter for a healthier cooking oil like olive oil. A second option is to simply grill two slices of cheese between pieces of bread. If you’re looking for more than just plain ol’ American cheese, try topping your sandwich with spinach, tomato slices or avocado slices! Cold Omelet: So maybe omelets are better hot but that doesn’t mean they can’t be served as leftovers at room temperature if necessary. Making an omelet is easy enough and the leftovers will taste great at any time of day (or night). All you need to do is scramble six eggs with milk and seasonings (salt, pepper, onion powder) then pan fry them over medium heat. Add whatever ingredients sound good – ham or bacon, onion or mushrooms – before folding the omelet over like a half moon and cutting into four equal parts. Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Now we’ve combined our favorite sandwiches into one! Take some pizza dough spread tomato sauce onto each slice then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each slice before placing another piece of dough on top. Put the pan in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown then cut into quarters. 3) Cheese Fondue The best thing about cheese fondue is that it’s a great food for any occasion. You can have cheese fondue for dinner, as an appetizer, or even on dessert! Plus, you can serve it with anything from vegetables to meats to fruits. The possibilities are endless. Here are three of our favorite Recipes with cheese for cheese fondue Swiss-style Classic Fondue: Combine one pound of grated Gruyere cheese and one pound of grated Emmenthaler in a saucepan over low heat. Slowly stir in one quart (4 cups) milk until smooth and melted. Gradually add salt and pepper, to taste. Remove from the heat and keep warm while preparing the other ingredients. For garlic bread, cut baguette into 1/2 inch slices; brush both sides with softened butter. Rub each slice of bread evenly with fresh garlic cloves, then arrange the slices on a baking sheet so they do not touch each other. Place under broiler for 3 minutes or until lightly browned on top, then set aside for serving. For your salad, combine finely chopped fresh parsley leaves (or 1 tbsp dried), 2 tsp dried dill weed (or 2 tbsp fresh), 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup good quality mayonnaise, and 4 oz sour cream in small bowl; season with salt and white pepper to taste.
